As I write this, cyclocross season is finally starting to heat up. Pretty soon the days will be getting shorter, the training even harder, and the weather colder.

In only a few short days, my fellow teammates and I will be traveling to Trenton, New Jersey to race in Mercer Cup.  For some of us, these races will be a wonderful place to gain valuable experience and for others, it will be a chance to prove that all our hard training and preparation has paid off.

I’m getting a little giddy about it just thinking about it right now. Cyclocross, like all sports is improbable. One day you may be on top of the world, but on the next you may feel like garbage. You may feel fantastic, but have a mechanical during a race. It is so improbable, but this draw is why cyclocross draws so many junkies like I. There will always be another day to fight and another day to get one’s fix.
