Today was a pretty cool race right along a lake, similar to the MFG race in Sammamish for those that did that one.  The U23s were combined with the Elite Men today so I was anticipating a tough one.  Despite the long ridable beach section and a few short sections of mud this was one of the faster courses of EuroCrossCamp 7.  I started decently and avoided a few big first lap pile-ups.  The course had thawed considerably since my warm up laps and was getting more muddy so I decided to switch to my bike with the mud tires.  Thanks to a quick heads up pit exchange facilitated by Geoff Proctor I was on my way again and with more traction in the greasy mud.  I was moving up well, but then I had a couple of silly crashes in some slow corners.  I was able to get going again rather quickly each time, but it would have been better to have stayed on my bike the whole race.  I was riding pretty steadily and was extra motivated to finish on the lead lap today.  I was so pumped to here the bell signaling that I had made it to the last lap of the race and that I was going to finish on that lead lap of a European Elite race.

Tomorrow will be the last race of my season in St Michielgestel, Holland.  I get to race with that one guy, Lars Boom, so I’m pumped.  I havn’t been able to find any pictures from races lately, so here is one that Mario took at the Zolder World Cup last week.
